Read a repair order before you authorize
An RO is a contract. Every line is a part, a labor hour, or a shop supply. If a line does not have a noun you understand, it is not authorized. Photograph the car and the part they say is bad. Grease-pencil the padded lines — that is what /quote is for.

A change dumps what gravity will give you. A flush exchanges nearly all of it through the cooler lines. On a healthy, regularly serviced trans, a flush can be fine.
