Fill washer fluid and stop the streaky smear

The blue jug under the hood is washer fluid, not coolant. In winter you want a mix that will not freeze in the lines. If the pump clicks and nothing hits the glass, the tank is empty, the hose is off, or the nozzle is clogged — not a new pump by default.

Safety

Do not pour coolant into the washer tank. The caps are different on purpose.
Do not use household detergent — it eats the pump.

Steps · beginner-friendly

Find the tank with the windshield icon. Open it.
Fill with washer fluid. In freeze country, use −20 °F fluid, not leftover summer mix.
Spray. If it dribbles, poke the nozzle with a pin. If it is silent, check the fuse before a pump.
Replace blades if the glass still smears after a full tank.
