| Fuel trims | % | Combined STFT+LTFT ≳ +15% idle is a lean story. Negative is rich. Context is load. |
| Coolant | spec / °F | Chemistry, not color. Measure freeze point. 50/50 is often about −34 °F. No “universal green.” |
| Oil cap | visc / spec | Cap and emissions label beat a HEURISTIC card. Not Motor. Not OEM TIS. 0W-16 is not 5W-20. |
| ATF / CVT | OEM name | HCF-2, DW-1, WS, NS-3, ULV — write the jug. Universal ATF is how those boxes die. |

- What is the measured number — mm, 32nds, PSI, volts, or freeze-frame?
- What is the not-to-exceed if you only diagnose?
- Call or text the new out-the-door before any extra line.
- Photo the old part or I take it home.
- Do not clear codes until I have stored / pending / permanent.
- What OEM fluid name is going in this VIN — not “ATF”?
Refuse
- “They’re due” is not a reading.
- “Do whatever it needs” is a blank check.
- Silence on a voicemail is not a yes.
- A code title is not a parts catalog.
