Every extra line is a new yes
The MPI found a cabin filter, a “flush,” and three other things they can reach. Some are real. Some are the lobby. Ask for the old part, the book interval, and a number that is not bundled into shop supplies.
You authorized an oil change or a brake job. The phone rings. They are “already in there.” This card is how you sort a $30 filter from a $400 fluid story.

Expert notes
Cabin filter labor · minutes
Many cars are a glove-box squeeze. Some (big SUVs, some German boxes) really do need a tear-down. Ask which one you have. A $20 filter and $160 labor is a model-specific story or a menu.
Trans service · method
Drain-and-fill replaces part of the sump. A cooler-line machine exchanges more. Neither is “lifetime fluid.” A neglected slushbox that suddenly gets a chemical flush can fail after. Ask for the book and the condition of the pan magnet, not a poster.
Coolant · spec, not color
Color is a marketing dye. Spec is chemistry (OAT, HOAT, P-OAT). Mixing “universal green” into a late-model loop is how you buy a water pump. Ask for the spec on the cap or the book.
