Complaint counts, not Consumer Reports. NHTSA stores a component on each complaint. We map that label to a playbook, a quote job slug, and a public pattern card. CR is a magazine we do not license.

The reliability desk pulled 400 filings and “POWER TRAIN” is on top. You need the next script, not a reliability badge.

What the number means

The map
AIR BAGS → recall-first. POWER TRAIN → trans-flush. ENGINE → oil-spec / misfire. COOLING → coolant-spec. STRUCTURE → frame-rust. Unmapped labels fall back to pre-shop.
Not a rate
Filings ÷ years of the nameplate is pace, not failures per 100 cars. No vehicles-in-operation. No CR bubble.
